KP joined Smith Dawson and Andrews after twenty-four years on Capitol Hill. Most recently serving as former Representative Peter DeFazio’s Chief of Staff, KP has comprehensive knowledge of legislative policy, strategy, and building relationships which lead to success.
As a former staffer for the Members on Energy and Commerce, Education and Labor, Financial Services, Budget, Judiciary, and the Rules Committees, KP is a master of the legislative process and has guided several pieces of legislation into law. She has expertise in energy, environment, climate, appropriations, agriculture, budget, natural resources, and Indian Affairs. KP brings extensive contacts on both the congressional and executive network. Additionally, KP spent five years off the Hill working with NGOs focusing on coalition building and policy success at the federal level.
KP received her Bachelor of Science from Clemson University.
